Veterans Airlift Command (VAC) is an organization that provides free air transportation to combat wounded and their families for medical and other compassionate purposes through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.
Omni Financial is proud to do our part to help our president, Andre Bohy, a veterans Airlift Command volunteer pilot, who has embarked on various flight missions for Veterans Airlift Command in the past few years, donating his time, plane and piloting skills.
Hero Flight 2015
Andre Bohy and General Manager of our Killeen branch, Keith Callands recently attended Hero Flight 2015 in Austin, TX, an annual appreciation dinner and fundraising event hosted by Veterans Airlift Command (VAC). Hero Flight 2015 honored VAC sponsors such as Omni, as well as combat wounded veterans. This two-day event took place November 6-7 and featured cocktail receptions, dinner, and a private concert by Jerrod Niemann. Select honorees were also invited to visit Camp Mabry to watch a special horse whisperer demonstration and see firsthand how combat wounded are benefitting from equine-assisted therapy.
Andre stated that the highlight of Hero Flight 2015 was listening to four combat wounded heroes share their personal and inspirational stories. He described the entire event as “very moving” and said that the veterans’ stories illustrate just what an invaluable service VAC provides to wounded warriors and “how VAC has helped them a lot.”
